A FIRST LOOK: FALL 2026
I did the homework so you don’t have to.
Fall is coming up fast, so here’s what to expect—and what you might already have in your closet.
First, brown isn’t going anywhere. It’s just getting richer. Think espresso, chocolate and chestnut, with oxblood and deep wine right behind them. Olive and charcoal are the other neutrals to know, while red and cobalt are making a very convincing case for a little color.
Before you buy another oversized blazer, the shape is changing. Relaxed tailoring is still around, but waists are coming back in—shaped jackets, nipped-in silhouettes and belts. So no, you don’t need to get rid of the blazer you already own. Try belting it first.
Lengths are moving down too. Midi and ankle-skimming skirts, long dresses and full-length coats all feel right, especially with something cleaner or closer to the body on top. And definitely keep the trench. Long trenches, leather outerwear, wrap coats and anything with a great collar or interesting shape are staying in rotation.
Prints are getting moodier. Plaid is back, darker florals and brocades are creeping in, and animal print is still very much here. Leopard, zebra, snakeskin—pick your poison. I just wouldn’t wear the whole zoo at once.
The bigger shift might actually be how everything is being styled. A knit over the shoulders. A silk scarf with a coat. A belt over a blazer. Suede with leather. Different shades of the same color together. Before deciding you need something new, try doing something different with what you already have.
Now, the bags. Slim ’90s shoulder bags, like our Kaia Shoulder Bag, are sitting close under the arm, east–west shapes are getting longer, and bigger bags are going softer and slouchier. Half-moons, like our Mire Shoulder Bag, relaxed top handles, and oversized carryalls are all in the mix. Suede is especially good in chocolate, olive, and wine, with our Joyce Faux Suede Tote Bag bringing that same relaxed feel. The less stiff and precious it feels, the better.
Shoes are getting dressed up again. Pumps, kitten heels, pointed toes, printed flats, velvet slippers and tall boots are all coming back into the picture. And if you want to try animal print without making it a whole thing, do it here. A leopard shoe with jeans and a knit is easy.
Jewelry is getting harder to miss too. Pearls feel less precious, brooches are turning up on jackets and coats, and earrings are getting bigger again. You don’t need all of it. One good piece people can actually see is enough.
And don’t forget the finishing touches. Belts matter again, silk scarves aren’t going anywhere, and sunglasses are getting bolder—bigger graphic frames, shields and sleek sporty shapes that actually add something to the outfit.
So before fall gets here, look in your closet first. Pull out the trench. Find the belt you forgot about. Bring back the tall boots. Try the blazer with a waist. Dig out anything suede, chocolate, wine or leopard.
Chances are, you already own more of fall than you think.
Consider yourself briefed. See you in fall.
